CHRRD's Pre-Election Workshops

27 March, 2003 - During the months of February and March, leading up to Nigeria's state and federal elections, CHRRD, in concert with UNDP and European Union funds channeled through Nigeria's Transition Monitoring Group, have carried out a series of four one-day participatory workshops on "Promoting Voter's Participation and Democratisation Process and Minimising Incidence of Political Violence" in four Southwestern and North-Central states of Nigeria.  Approximately four hundred persons attended these workshops, with representation from all sectors of the electorate, including trade unions, students, elected officials, farmers, traders, women's and other civil society groups.
